Welcome
I’m Stacy, a former pastor’s wife learning to live honestly after divorce. I offer a gentle front-porch space for women untangling faith, marriage, and identity, listening deeply as you discern courageous next steps.
My story is a long one. I was married to a Baptist pastor for most of my adult life (to date). I left in January 2024, and our divorce finalized after in July 2024 – my 50th birthday and our 29th anniversary (both of which were in May). At the time that I left, he was in leadership for the missionary work of the denomination. I have two adult children.
My professional experience is in the area of education, and that has also prepared me for this listening role. I started as an English teacher, pursued a master’s in education with a focus on school counseling, directed an online school, and worked at the Department of Education in Minnesota. Additionally, I served as an in-home mental health worker for children.
A part of my story that you should know before you decide to work with me is that I am in recovery from alcoholism. My sobriety date is 12/10/21, and I work daily to be sober and healthy. I share that with you because my recovery work helped me to find serenity, courage, and wisdom. I also do not want you to be shocked when I share about it as it is integral to who I am.
Our Stories – Together
Front Porch Chats grew from my unraveling and rebuilding. I hold nonjudgmental space for women who are questioning if staying in their marriage or leaving it is the right decision. Specifically, I am equipped to support women who were raised in conservative Christianity and/or for women who married into the conservative Christian space.
While honoring your story and your attempt to navigate your situation, we will sit together to envision what freedom might look like. If that freedom can come from inside the marriage you are in right now, I will honor that decision. If that freedom comes from you leaving it, I will honor that decision.
Only you know what is best for you. What I do know that God does not want anyone to die on the altar of marriage – figuratively or literally.
Eventually, I hope to host a nonjudgmental group space where women can come together to support each other while they seek answers to the question: can I stay in this marriage?
This group would be designed specifically for those women raised in conservative Christianity and/or for women married to conservative Christian men (who may or may not be pastors).
